The Ghana Voices Series

Our Reading Series, The Ghana Voices Series is a monthly public reading series which has been running for up to eight months every year since July, 2010.

All Ghana A Stage: A reading with the SBLP

Writers Project of Ghana and Goethe-Institut Ghana proudly present our first joint reading session for 2025, in collaboration with the Samira Bawumia Literary Prize. The reading will feature contributing authors to the 2023 prize anthology, All Ghana A Stage.

The Samira Bawumia Literature Prize (SBLP) is a biennial prize recognising outstanding non-fiction prose, short fiction, and poetry by young Ghanaians.

The reading starts at 7.00 PM prompt on Wednesday 30th April 2025 and will feature Phinehas Nana Osei, Emmanuela Amparebea Sekoh, Deladem Kwaku Adom, and Luther D. Fembeti.

The venue is the Goethe-Institut, Cantonments, Accra. Copies of books will also be on sale.

Poetry Time at Goethe Abansoro with Sarpong Osei Asamoah

Writers Project of Ghana and Goethe-Institut Ghana proudly present a special edition of "Poetry Time at Goethe-Abansoro" at 7.00 PM on Wednesday 4th September 2024.

Sarpong Osei Asamoah's collection of poetry, "YAANOM" was recently published by the African Poetry Book Fund, and this month's "Poetry Time" will present the book and have a discussion on the poet's creative process.

The venue is the Goethe-Institut in Cantonments, Accra.

You are all invited to this evening of poetry readings and discussion.

Elizabeth-Irene Baitie is Author for August

Writers Project of Ghana and Goethe-Institut Ghana present Elizabeth-Irene Baitie as our author for the month and guest reader at our monthly reading at Goethe-Institut Ghana. Elizabeth-Irene is author of the recently released Flying up the Mountain under the Norton Young Readers imprint.

You are invited to join us for this reading focusing on the novel Crossing the Stream, winner of the Kirkus Reviews Best Children's Book of 2021. The reading starts at 7.00 PM prompt on Wednesday 28th August 2024. The venue is the Goethe-Institut at Cantonments in Accra. Copies of books will also be on sale.

The Book Bridge: Connecting Generations Through Literature

Writers Project of Ghana and the Los Angeles Public Library are proud to collaborate on a discussion with Ghanaian writers Elizabeth-Irene Baitie, Nii Ayikwei Parkes, and Mamle Wolo. "Titled The Book Bridge:Connecting Generations Through Literature", this event will take place online and will be live on the LAPL Youtube Channel on Wednesday 31st July at 5.00 PM GMT.
