Pa Gya! 2025 Opens on Friday 17th October

The 2025 edition of Pa Gya! A Literary Festival in Accra (17th to 19th October 2025) opens at Goethe-Institut Ghana, Cantonments, Accra on Friday 17th October 2025.
The opening ceremony starts at 5.30 PM and wlll immediately be followed by programming, starting with the headline event, Past Forward: Archives, Photos and Storytelling: Judith Opoku-Boateng in conversation with Prof Esi Sutherland-Addy, with subsequent sessions of poetry performance by Babs Gons and the dramatic reading of Nana Ekua Brew-Hammond's novel My Parent's Marriage performed by Foundspace Productions.
Pa Gya! A Literary Festival in Accra is a three day literary arts festival featuring literary activities and exhibitions: readings, panel discussions, poetry performances, lectures, story-telling sessions, book launches, literary prize awards, comics and graphic novels, exhibitions and more.
Pa Gya! is organised by Writers Project of Ghana, Goethe-Institut Ghana and Foundation for Contemporary Art-Ghana.

The first edition of the festival was in 2017 and we mark the ninth consecutive edition this year. The dates are 17th to 19th October 2025.
