Writer for June - Taiye Selasi

The Writers Project of Ghana and Goethe Institute, Accra invite you to this month's reading with author, photographer and screen writer Taiye Selasi, best known for coining the term ‘Afropolitan’.

In 2005 Taiye Selasi published the seminal essay ‘Bye-Bye, Babar: Or, What is an Afropolitan?’ (The LIP, 2005), sparking a movement among young Africans. Selasi made her fiction debut with The Sex Lives of African Girls (Granta, 2011), selected for The Best American Short Stories 2012. Her first novel Ghana Must Go will be published by Penguin in 2013.
